HOW MANY HOUSES

Tiny Homes Expo is not necessarily all about queuing up to peek inside houses in a 30 minute rush and then go home... there is SO much more.  Speakers, Off Grid, presentations, experts, - this is an all rounded event.  If you wish to just see inside a few houses for design ideas, you can visit a Tiny House Builder in your area - for free - or catch a youtube channel.

Plan to spend a few hours browsing everything and discover the speakers and exhibitors.

We aim to get you a minimum 20+ buildings and will grow as we get to know all the local builders in each area. In Melbourne we achieved 29, in Sydney 28, and Redcliffe is currently approx 24 (you would be surprised how many builders are getting them ready right up to the evening before the show)

We try to get a diverse range of buildings from cabins, little domes and backyard offices, to quintessential Tiny Homes on Wheels, to modern modulars and container homes,  Tiny homes with upper bedrooms, single story bedrooms, and big domes too!

Can I buy Tickets at the Gate

Fridays - YES.

Saturday / Sunday  Mornings and afternoons..... MAYBE!

It really depends which sessions sell out first.  Once a session has sold out, we stop tickets at the gate. So if you are driving a long way - and would be disappointed that you can't get inside... buy online.

Morning arrival (stay all day) are more expensive than afternoon arrival (which is more crowded).

Tickets online are available from these links.

BRISBANE: Showground Parking and a managed Car park (volunteers - donation/free)

SYDNEY:  Free Showgrounds Parking - see important updates for 2022

$35 / $25 Tickets? Why?

Ticketing of events is a crucial element to a successful show. We have staggered the event arrival times because we know that huge amounts of people arrive and stay between the 10am-1pm period.

This creates long, long lines and queues into tiny homes at these times, and a disproportionately quiet afternoon. The queues result in complaints and people feeling disparaged.

By making this timeframe a more expensive, we aim to flatten out the spike in attendance and be a lot more even across the day.

If you came in the morning or the afternoon, you will see the same houses, the same stalls and the same speakers / demos and Q+A sessions.

TIP: If the queues are long when you arrive - go catch a speaker and browse other stands, and try house viewings  later in the day... the last hour of each session is a breeze!

So if you are thoroughly researching your tiny house journey, we recommend coming for a longer time to pick the knowledge pool in every corner... others may want to come for an afternoon  browse instead.  Also if you do not like crowds - Pick FRIDAY.

WHY NOT FREE TICKETS?  If the event were free, we estimate in excess of 25,000 people would rock up 'for a look', and the event would literally implode under its own popularity.

Imagine queuing for 4 hours to view each house!

If you just want to peek inside cute houses, we recommend visiting a builder's showroom - which  is free.  The event is far more holistic and about discovering an entire movement. We feel those that come with the only expectation being to see a massive amount of houses, seem to be disappointed - yet the expo has the highest amount of tiny houses in one place, in Australia.

Bringing Kids?

We are a child friendly event, however we do not specifically incorporate children's entertainment.  Note: we do not charge for children under 16, they do not require a ticket.

Bringing Dogs?

As an outdoor event, we would love you to bring your dog - however, generally, many builders ask that they are not taken inside the Tiny Houses.  IF you do, please ensure you bring materials to deal with doggy-accidents immediately, and obviously they are expected to be kept on a leash. Some dogs can feel very anxious in a crowd with other dogs - keep that in mind and ensure that your dog is comfortable and not feeling threatened which can result in aggression.

CAN I SWITCH MY DAY ?

You need to contact via your order email, and request a swap PRIOR TO THE EVENT.  From your order, hit the Contact Organiser button for a switch / or email jadie@tinyhomesexpo.com.au - if you want to change from just PM to AM - just ask the admin staff at gate to upgrade your ticket for $10.

CAN I USE GOVERNMENT VOUCHERS TO PAY

YES:  in NSW you can use your $25 Dine and Explore voucher directly in the Humanitix ticketing payment section.   (Please note Vouchers are not refundable per NSW Gov terms and conditions - and NSW Discovery vouchers are not available on the EventBrite ticketing portal - it is USA based)

WE CAN NOT REDEEM THEM AT THE GATE - ONLINE TICKETS ONLY

In Victoria - you need to send your tickets and any accommodation for reimbursement after the event.

In QLD we have not been notified of a similar scheme as yet.

Buying Online Fri, Sat, Sun Morning? WARNING

The ticketing portal will often disable anyone trying to buy a ticket online on the morning of the event.  This is due to the high volumes of people that wait until morning  of the event to buy a ticket and the ticket sales surge, causing issues with the portal and errors that result in 'double buying'.

As organisers, if we are aware of how many people are coming in advance, we can ensure there is enough food, enough toilet roll, enough everything! So tickets bought in advance are helpful to you and to us.

Disabled Patrons

Disabled patrons and their caregivers (with companion cards), do not need to buy a ticket.  Nearly every (but not all), Tiny Home has steps and are not suited to wheelchair access (and we're sorry about that).  Expos are also generally overwhelming for Autistic and Spectrum patrons. Builders of tiny homes will 100% custom a house to your needs - even including space for an assistance dog - so do come speak to them and ask for a private viewing - they can achieve anything you need. The event is on hard and grass surfaces, and mainly flat ground for getting around.  Please come to the ticket desk with Government issued disability card and Companion Cards for entry.

COVID / VACCINATIONS / LOCKDOWNS

If Lockdown /Covid19 outbreaks threaten the event - we may postpone - and find new dates.  If this is the case, you will be offered to keep your ticket for the new dates - or request a REFUND.  As long as the refund is BEFORE the new dates so we can resell your ticket.

Please do not hang on to your tickets until the very day before if you are know you can not come. - others would like that ticket released back into the system.

Vaccination status will be as per government requirements as of the DAY - so messaging us months in advance - "do i need to be vaccinated" - can be a bit fruitless.

We will not be 'willingly exclusive', other than what we are forced to do with threats of fines and inability to hold future events.

NSW does NOT require a vaccination status for entry.

QLD does NOT require a vaccination status for entry.

VIC: DOES require vaccination status.  We feel that these may change (in line with WA/NSW/QLD events) as it is an OUTDOOR event.  We would update this page IMMEDIATELY if there was a definitive changes to the current restrictions which are Vaccinated Only.  We would also announce on social media (click Interested in the event and you will get updates to your timeline.

We have a Covid Safe Page regarding masks and hand sanitising: HERE

LISTS OF EXHIBITORS

Can I have a list of who will be there?

We do not give out lists of exhibitors.  Nor do we publish a list of our exhibitors online.  For 2 reasons -  It is a request other Businesses ask for continually, so they can contact our exhibitors and try to sell them stuff - including competitors to Tiny Home Expo.

Also, an exhibitor may book then not be able to come, and there is a surprising amount of 'last minute' exhibitors. Things change; exhibitors cancel; presenters change; new exhibitors book last minute.

We have received unacceptable hate, complaints, bad reviews, comments, demands for refunds - if just ONE exhibitor does not make it.  We do however, spend hours every day helping people connect with builders - so message us with what you are looking for ANY TIME - you will be amazed how helpful we are...

Every exhibitor is featured in our A4 Magazine - handed to you upon entry to take home.  Exhibitors also feature on our Facebook Events pages under the Discussion Bar - It is simple to scroll through and see exhibitors posts - especially in the week of the expo.

If you are coming to the Expo to see a particular exhibitor and would not care to see others, it would be a good idea to contact that exhibitor direct to ensure they will be at the expo.
