- our expo is growing a lot each year as we add more exhibitors. Brisbane is our largest
Houses vary from Modular, pods, prefabricated - through toTiny Houses on Wheels - loft bedrooms and single level, ladders and stairs, simple rooms, huts, DIY frames and concept homes, glamping and kit homes. Some may be shells and unfinished. There is something for everyone.
Consider that bad weather and soft grounds may inhibit some of the larger constructions.
Saturday is the most likely day to cease Gate Tickets - especially if the weather is fine. We find catering to an unknown amount of people very frustrating - and unlike a field day or a caravan show, we aim to reduce crowds and reduce queues in to houses. HENCE WE CEASE GATE TICKETS WHEN AT CAPACITY.
If you are travelling far and would be unhappy to be turned around - buy online in advance.
We have ceased gate tickets 3 times at previous events... we announce right here on the FAQS when capacity is being reached.
Waiting until the morning you want to come, phoning us about capacity, is also not practical (we can not take 1000's of calls - so we have to switch the phones to refer to these FAQs)
We rarely reach capacity on a Friday - although our recent shows had record Friday numbers...

Ticketing of events is a crucial element to a successful show. We have staggered the event arrival times because we know that huge amounts of people arrive and stay between the 10am-1pm period.
This creates long lines and queues into tiny homes at these times, and a disproportionately quiet afternoon.
The queues result in complaints and people feeling disparaged.
By making this timeframe a little more expensive, we aim to flatten out the spike in attendance and be a lot more even across the day.
The ticketing price is attractive to someone researching Tiny Homes, wanting to see speakers, presenters, and investigate off grid elements - and we understand that not everyone feels it is affordable for them.
Our aim is to provide value for those who are thoroughly researching the Tiny Home movement.
WHY NOT FREE TICKETS? If the event were free, we estimate in excess of 25,000 people would rock up 'for a look', and the event would simply implode under its own popularity.
Imagine queuing for hours and hours to view each house!
VISIT HOUSES FOR FREE INSTEAD: If you just want to peek inside cute houses, we recommend visiting a builder's showroom - which is free. This event is a far more holistic experience - themed around expert advice.
We are a child friendly event, however we do not specifically incorporate children's entertainment. Note: we do not charge for children 16yrs and under, they do not require a ticket, they come in on the accompanying adult ticket.
Please be aware that small children like to climb the ladders in the houses - and in most houses this is a safety issue. Please help by ensuring children are not left to climb ladders and stairs unattended.
As an outdoor event, we would love you to bring your dog - however, we ask that they are not taken inside the Tiny Houses.
IF you do bring your dog, please ensure you bring materials to deal with doggy-accidents immediately, and obviously they are expected to be kept on a leash.
Some dogs can feel very anxious in a crowd with other dogs - keep that in mind and ensure that your dog is comfortable and not feeling threatened which could result in aggression.
We love seeing dogs at the show - but we are seeing more and more owners ignoring the above instructions and are subsequently considering a NO DOG policy. Please help us keep the expo open to 4 paw friends.
You need to contact via your order email, and request a swap PRIOR TO THE TICKET DAY. From your order, hit the Contact Organiser button for a switch / or email jadie@tinyhomesexpo.com.au- if you want to change from PM to AM - just ask the admin staff at gate to UPGRADE your ticket .
Same email for Lost tickets, wrong email tickets, - all ticket issues.
(Facebook messages / texting / calling - does not go to someone who can help with ticketing)
We are a very informative event and the subject of Tiny Homes is a hit with school educators. However, we are seeing schools take advantage of the Free ticketing for 16yrs and under, and groups of 100 children arriving that impacts our event immensely. This is a commercial event - builders and other paying visitors have expectations - and our entire event is prepped for REDUCING over-crowding. For this reason, a school must register that they are arriving - and permission given in writing for any school group, which can not exceed 25 at any given time. We hope in the future that we can set up an 'educating hour' or something that delivers some value for a school program - this will need much insight and a thoughtful process for us to manage logistically. We hope that schools understand, and we are always happy to recommend good resources to any educators looking to discover people that can help with educational programs.
Nearly every (but not all), Tiny Home on wheels has steps, and are not suited to wheelchair access, and are also limited to 2.4m wide to be on the road. (and we're sorry about that). Expos are also generally overwhelming for Autistic and Spectrum patrons.
Builders of tiny homes will 100% custom a house to your needs - even including space for an assistance dog, wider homes for wheelchair users, and soft close doors (quiet houses) for the sensitivity overwhelm. There are Low-Tox houses, and many single level...
However - it is rare that an example is ready for display at an Expo.
- so do come speak to them and ask for a private viewing - they can achieve anything you need - it's just not likely that a display is freely available that can demonstrate a disabled friendly version. (Ramps might need an additional truck and tow, and builders simply are so busy that few have 'spare displays' at all!)
The event is on hard and grass surfaces, and mainly flat ground for getting around.
Please come to the ticket desk with Government issued disability card and Companion Cards for entry. You do NOT require an online ticket.
We do not give out lists of exhibitors via email or social media messages.
There is a preferred exhibitor list HERE showing exhibitors who have consistently booked our expos - however these reflect nationwide and not individual events.
Every exhibitor is featured in our A4 Magazine - handed to you upon entry to take home.
ALL exhibitors coming to an event feature on our Facebook Events pages under the Discussion Bar - It is simple to scroll through and see ALL exhibitors posts - especially in the week of the expo.
If you are coming to the Expo to see a particular exhibitor and would not care to see others, it would be a good idea to contact that exhibitor direct to ensure that particular company will be at the expo.
(they could be flooded, have a personal or logistical issue, lack of staff members, broken down vehicle... sometimes things go wrong out of the organisers' hands).
